VFAO COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE
SECTION 4 ELECTION COUNTY REPRESENTATIVES
In March of every year, each of the 77 counties in the State of Oklahoma will elect a county representative from their chiefs/fire associations. If both organizations exist, the fire association that represents the highest numbers of volunteer departments in the county will have primacy. Each volunteer fire department general membership, as recognized by Oklahoma state statute, will have one (1) vote in the county election. If no county representative is elected, one may be appointed by the current regional director.
It shall be the duty of the county representatives to keep in contact with their regional directors, informing them of any issues, concerns, or needs of their counties volunteer fire departments.
