training fundamentals

Day 1.  We sign on a new firefighter.  How do we train him? Give them the basics? How long does it take or how far away is the first available class?
How about in your own station or in the comfort of their home?
First you must ask yourself. What is the majority of your call volume?  What is going to get him/her or us killed that he doesn't' know how to properly do?
Below are several sections that can give this firefighter some awareness or in house certification depending on what the Authority Having Jurisdiction decides.
